Asics Noosa Tri 14 Review: Lightweight and Durable Running Shoe with Impressive Performance

As a runner, I recently had the opportunity to test the ASICS Noosa Tri 14 running shoes and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The first thing that caught my eye was the wild and colorful design of the shoe. But as a runner, I know that looks aren't everything, so I took it for a spin to see how it performed.

To start off, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the shoe weighed in at just 6.7 ounces in my size - that's an incredible weight for a training shoe. The ASICS Noosa Tri 14 is definitely a lightweight shoe, and it's a significant improvement over the previous model, the Noosa Tri 13.

The upper of the shoe is made of an engineered mesh with improved breathability in the toe box, and the semi-gusseted tongue helps to lock the foot down. The heel counter, heel tab, and heel flare are all well-designed and provide a plush feel while still maintaining strength and preventing lateral motion.

The midsole of the ASICS Noosa Tri 14 is made from a kevlar and polyester blend of fibers, which the company calls the ASICS Flight Foam. This provides lightweight impact absorption and allows for a better toe-off during the gait cycle. The midsole is a little on the firm side with a score of 47 out of 100, but that's expected for a training shoe as it increases durability.

Finally, the outsole of the shoe is perfect, with an exposed midfoot that scores 8.5 out of 10. The bounce and energy return from the outsole is impressive, and I was pleased with the performance.

In conclusion, the ASICS Noosa Tri 14 is a beautiful and functional running shoe that's perfect for neutral road runners. With a lightweight design, improved breathability, and a well-designed midsole and outsole, this shoe will not disappoint. Whether you prefer crazy colorways or more understated looks, the ASICS Noosa Tri 14 is definitely worth considering for your next running shoe.
